I was 19 and not super experienced within the field of literature, but then I read Calvino, and got a glimpse of something very strange and wonderfully unexpected - for me this book opened a door into the magic mysteries of great art & literature.
This happened 40 years ago, and I still read for those unique moments when everything I thought I knew is challenged -
